And frankly I never had any interest. But this midnight blue with factory titanium-looking wheels example I walk by daily is truly a wonderful specimen.

Those drive nice too... I would totally own one. The 3UZ in that car makes it such a nice touring vehicle.

I always kinda liked the GT500 car. It was a monster in Forza.

It's a big, plush, hardtop convertible with a V8 and RWD. styling is questionable but I don't hate it. I'd drive one.

I just had my first experience with the SC430 last week, saw two of them in a row, and at first I was shocked and appalled, and then slightly enthralled.

The main problem with the SC430 was its price of almost $70,000 in 2010
They should be considerably cheaper now

Yes, good ones can be had for $20-something... I think the unusable backseat is a joke, but this would be a perfect luxury vehicle for someone like me.

Need the right paint and wheels to work. Most you see are white or beige with some hideous aftermarket wheels.

I've always hated the front end on these, but I was stuck in traffic next to one yesterday and the interior seemed like a truly nice place to be.

I loathe those cars! I had to do rear struts on several of them, which means taking apart the entire trunk, which is grey carpet, and of course my hands weren’t dirty...
But getting to drive it wasn’t any fun either. The think creaks and moans like nobody’s business, and it’s not even fast because it weighs more than Mars.
The one you're looking at has okay wheels, but the others ones are truly terrible.

Ahh, but see, compare that to a 1983 Tercel, 1985 Celica, and a 1980 Pickup, and it’s truly luxurious from my perspective.
Still think I’d rather have an SC400.

Alright that's very true. I'm comparing it to my German cars and other ones I work on, in which it has no hope.

It’s contrast — it’s all about diversity. You could never drive a Tercel and find something you like about it. I will probably never humor a modern German vehicle.

If it feels well built and not cheap then I would compliment it on that. Because drive ability is so important in auto repair, I have to focus on tiny details that most people don’t pay attention to. I know not everything is going to compare to a nice German car, but that doesn’t mean non German cars don’t have redeeming qualities. A Camry is actually a really nice car when it’s kept up. They’re a little boaty but they’re comfortable and very quiet, and even with a four banger they can move out of the way.
I haven't driven many old Japanese cars, but I'm sure they are nicer than the new cheap cars on the road today.

80's Toyota plastic is sadly vastly superior to what you find in many modern every-man cars. The tradeoff I suppose is that I have zero luxuries, no safety equipment, and oil leaks comparable to an environmental disaster.

Up until the newest Corolla’s, they didn’t have any more features than your cars. Sure, they had power things, but functionally they were the same, but crappier. When I was young we had a Corolla hatchback diesel, and I remember that thing was a hell of a lot nicer than a new Corolla. We (me and my four other siblings) were more comfortable in the hatchback then a mid 200o’s Corolla. Ever since that rental car disaster I put the $30 a day coverage on my policies.

The SC430 came out after the Supra Turbo. Anyone can see how that would piss everyone off.
The GS400/430 made more sense.

I walk by one too almost daily.. i think it looks like that one.. Pebble Beach edition.. more like Pebble Beach..ed Whale edition. It’s massive, but it looks like it would be a nice cruiser.
